The Edinburgh Art Fair 2008

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to all who exhibited or visited the 2008 Edinburgh Art Fair.

We were absolutely delighted with all aspects of this years event which was an enormous success. Attendance was up around 20% on last years event with almost 12,000 visitors viewing and buying work from the 60 exhibiting galleries.

It was also extremely heartening in todays economic climate to see sales up significantly over last year with well over 1,100 original artworks sold over the course of the weekend with a combined value of more than £1.75 million. This does not include the many sales which are still taking place after the event.

Yet again the public were hugely impressed with the range and quality of artworks available. There are few, if any, other events in the UK to offer such a diverse range of work, both in terms of price and style. This was commented on many times by the visiting public and firmly cements the Edinburgh Art Fair as one of the best and most comprehensive art fairs to take place in the UK.

Much of the success of the fair is of course down to the exhibiting galleries, all of whom we would like to thank for their continued support and professionalism as well as for bringing together one of the best collections of original artworks we have yet seen at this or any other art fair in the country. We would also like to offer a special thank you to North Edinburgh Childcare and of course Mail Boxes Etc. both of whom again worked tirelesly to ensure the safety of our younger visitors and all the 1,100 plus pieces of art sold.

Work will be starting shortly on the 2009 Edinburgh Art Fair and further information will be uploaded here over the course of the next few weeks. In the meantime we can confirm that our dates for next year's event have been confirmed and will be 20th to 22nd November with the preview evening being held on Thursday 19th November when again we look forward to hosting one of the quickest growing and most succesful art fairs in the country.
