Edinburgh Art Fair are delighted to be associated with

A very special creative environment in our community.

We look forward to seeing them at this year's event.

For over fifty years, Garvald Edinburgh has provided opportunities and support for adults with learning disabilities in the Lothian area. With an approach based on Rudolf Steiner's ideas, they deliver meaningful development, high-standard care, and safe spaces where their members can explore their creative potential.

We have been working with Garvald since 2022 and look forward to once again welcoming their artists and makers to a stand at Edinburgh Art Fair in our 20th Anniversary year.

Who We Are

About Garvald Artists

We have a new shop!

The Art and Design Studio, based at Orwell Arts in Edinburgh, enables individual artists to develop and exhibit their work. The artists have access to high quality materials and support, giving them space to explore and express their creative voice. Each artist is facilitated to produce a body of work to exhibition standard and their work is shown in a variety of contemporary mainstream settings in Edinburgh and beyond.

Artists with learning disabilities face a number of barriers to the mainstream art world. We endeavour to break these down by focusing on their abilities and showcasing the quality, diversity and warmth of their work. Please note that at this stage the artwork displayed in this section is not currently available for sale—watch this space for updates on the availability of artwork.

You can now buy all our exciting art and craft work made by the members who attend the workshops at the main website. Whether you are looking for stunning ceramics, glass work, jewellery, textiles, crafted wooden items, or original artworks, purchasing our products means you are supporting our work and the opportunities for our members to continue to make, create, and develop their potential.
