Resin Art Demo

Aska Marzec
Edinburgh Art Fair, 2025

Live demonstration using resin as a medium.

Saturday 20th September. 4pm - 4.30pm

  • "Have you ever watched the sea take shape in colours, right before your eyes?"

  • "What shade of the ocean do you imagine I should pour first?"

These are questions that I will answer during my demonstration at this year's EAF.

I'll carefully blend the two components, stirring for several minutes until they become one. Then, I'll divide this mixture into four smaller cups, tinting each with a different shade, like capturing the shifting moods of the sea.

I'll pour these flowing colours onto a 45 cm birch plywood disc, letting them travel and merge across the surface. As the resin spreads, it will create a seascape alive with movement, light, and depth - waves appearing as if they are breathing, tides pulling gently across the wood.

The process will take only half an hour, but the disc will be transformed into something timeless within that time. While I work, you are welcome to pause beside me, watch, ask questions, or let yourself be carried by the unfolding of colour and flow.
