Scottish artist, Uncle Kid, combines trip-hop with spoken word to create genre-defying tracks that look at social themes of isolation, class, and mental illness. Described as 'unsettling' by BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson, Uncle Kid has drawn comparisons to Massive Attack and Arab Strap.

August 11th 2023 seen the release of his haunting cover of Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World. Re-imagined from a place of detachment from all of life’s wonder, as is often the experience of living with mental health struggles, he turns the 1967 classic on its head.

Uncle Kid's unconventional, multi-instrumental live shows are not to be missed. Using traditional instruments alongside circuit-bent Casio keyboards and children's toys, he recently closed the LeithLate summer festival with an arresting set at the sold-out Leith Arches and is growing a dedicated following.

September will see him travel to Leicester to play a medieval church in the hills, and in November you can catch him at the O2 Academy, Edinburgh as part of EAF LIVE.
