Alexander Millar is one of the UK's best-loved artists and has exhibited widely throughout the UK and worldwide.
With four museum shows, The Great North Museum Newcastle, Steelo in Sheffield, The Scotland St Museum, Glasgow and The New York Fire Dept
The museum opened three galleries in Newcastle upon Tyne, Glasgow and lastly on 5th Avenue, New York.

He has gained a huge following and has a massive collector base and is known mostly for his depictions of old men in flat caps and women in tartan headscarves, a nod to his days being brought up on the west coast of Scotland near the town of Kilmarnock, and for his beautiful landscapes of both industrial and countryside.
He regularly gives "audiences" where he does a live painting and tells stories of his upbringing and of his time in the art world, which culminated in a one-man show at the Newcastle Theatre Royal, where 1200 people turned up for the performance.
The painting was auctioned at the end of the performance to raise money for the Theatre.
